ePraise at Ashtree Primary Academy
At Ashtree Primary Academy, we believe that every child deserves to be recognised and celebrated for their achievements, effort and the wonderful choices they make every day. Our ePraise system helps us do just that!
ePraise is an exciting rewards system that allows children to collect points for demonstrating our school values of Courage, Care and Curiosity, as well as for their achievements, effort, attendance, reading and contribution to school life.
Every Point Counts!
Children can earn ePraise points in lots of different ways. For example:
- Care Points – awarded when children demonstrate care for others, themselves or their environment.
- Courage Points – awarded when children try something new, challenge themselves or show resilience.
- Curiosity Points – awarded when children ask fantastic questions, explore ideas and show a genuine desire to learn.
- Quality Question Points – awarded to children who ask thoughtful, interesting and insightful questions.
- Reading Awards – children can earn points for reading at least five times each week and having their reading record signed at home.
- 100% Spelling Awards – children who achieve 100% in their weekly spelling test receive additional points.
- BrainBuilders Awards – children can earn points for completing their half-termly BrainBuilder activities.
- Ashtree's Best Kept Classroom – classes that show excellent care for their learning environment can earn points when they are recognised as our best-kept classroom.
- Class Awards and Values Role Model Awards – children are regularly recognised by their teachers and peers for their achievements and for being excellent role models.
- Principal's Prize – exceptional achievement can be recognised with a very special award of 50 points.
We also celebrate children who have excellent attendance. Every child who achieves 100% attendance in a week automatically receives 10 ePraise points. These points are added automatically at the end of each week.
Spend Your Points!
One of the most exciting parts of ePraise is deciding what to do with the points you have earned!
Children can save their points and then visit the ePraise Shop, where they can choose a reward. The shop offers a fantastic range of prizes, including books, stationery, toys and vouchers for exciting days out and experiences.
This means that children can see a real reward for their hard work, positive choices and achievements. They can choose to save their points for something special or spend them along the way!
Run by Our Children, for Our Children
Our ePraise Shop is made even more special because it is run with the help of our very own children.
A team of children help to organise and run the shop, support with giving out rewards and make sure the ePraise experience is exciting for everyone. This gives our children valuable opportunities to develop responsibility, teamwork, communication and leadership skills while helping their friends celebrate their achievements.
Celebrate the Milestones
We don't just celebrate individual points – we celebrate the journey too!
As children collect points, they can reach exciting milestone awards, including Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and beyond. These milestones give children something to work towards and allow us to celebrate their progress along the way.
More Than Just Points
ePraise is about much more than earning prizes. It is about creating a culture where children understand that their choices, effort, kindness, curiosity and courage matter.
Whether a child has shown incredible care for their classroom, asked a brilliant question, picked up a book and read at home, challenged themselves to try something new or simply worked incredibly hard, we want them to know that we notice, we value it and we celebrate it.
At Ashtree, we want every child to put their best foot forward, raise the bar and take pride in who they are and what they can achieve.
